MOTOROLA CITRUS: MID-RANGE SMARTPHONE

Motorola is known around the world for innovation in communication. It is focused on advancing the day the world connects. Motorola is leading the next wave of innovations that enables people to be more connected with mobiles. Motorola Citrus was announced in early October along side the Droid Pro. The Motorola Citrus is a low-cost Android smartphone. It runs Android 2.1 Operating system along with Motoblur. There are dedicated call and end buttons which usually seen in Feature phones. Motorola Citrus supports a 3 inch QVGA inch touchscreen with rear trackpad. It is surprisingly small as compare to other mobile phone and compact as well.

The Trackpad gives the user another option to scroll photos and screen. It is probably not made for the hands of an NBA player. You can comfortably hold in the palm of your hand. Motorola Citrus has 3 megapixel camera which take some adequate photos. Motorola also support some nice features including geo-tagging, a file manager and panorama assist. The performance of this mobile phone is less than the lackluster. It is powered by 538 MHz processor but today most Android phones are powered by at least 800 MHz processor or higher. There is a micro SD slot card which is up to 2GB. The dimension of the phone is 104*59*15 mm and the weight is around 110 g.

The users do have the option to use a larger card up to 32 GB. It features a GUI common among most Motorola Android phones which includes a dock at the bottom of your screen. There is lack of a text message shortcut on your home screen which is a bit annoying. There is a nice, balanced tonal quality to calls and the speaker is also good. Motorola Citrus is eco-friendly and it comes in eco-friendly package as well. The User interface and processor are both fall short.  You also can find difficulties to run some Android application on it. The memory of call records and phonebook are practically unlimited. There is 3.5 mm audio jack and the internal storage is 100 MB. The talk time of Citrus is up to 6 h 20 min and stand by time is up to 300 h.
