BLACKBERRY TORCH 9800:A PHONE WITH MID-RANGE FEATURE

BlackBerry Torch 9800 is RIM'S latest and greatest attempt to tackle touchscreen technology. RIM is revamped its software to be more finger-friendly and kept the beloved BlackBerry keyboard. But there is a chunky design and low-resolution screen which prevents the Torch from unseating the the best of smartphone rivals. It has a landscape screen with a QWERTY keyboard and it is very much like BlackBerry Bold 9700. The keyboard slides out from below the screen the long way which makes it narrow. It also makes the phone feel top heavy when you slide it open. BlackBerry Torch 9800 is bulky, weighing in at 161 g and porking out at 15 mm thick. BlackBerry devices are the master of mobile emails and to take advantage of their powers u need a BlackBerry contract.

 The on-screen keyboard is very useable when you are feeling too lazy to pop around the slider. There is built in spell checker and the cursor which made selecting parts of text easy. If you want to type on the screen,you have options of portrait and landscape Qwerty keyboards. A 12 key alphanumeric keyboard and the Sure Type Option which offers two letters per key. Torch is the antithesis of the iPhone which is seem simple with its unchanging home screen of icons, single home buttons and large user interface buttons. On the home screen, you have a sliding menu that goes up and down and reveal icons related to the phone features. BlackBerry offers the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. There is built 512 MB of memory built in,along with a 4GB micro SD card slot which can be upped to 32 GB.

 There is a notification area which open with a touch to show your various emails and social media network updates. The number of options is provided by the home screen is almost overwhelming. There is a new feature call as "Universal Search" which help with the information overload. It runs BlackBerry 6 OS which is the latest new version of the BlackBerry Operating system. Although the touch experience is not as smooth as it should be. BlackBerry Torch has 3.2 inch display with the 8 GB of internal memory. The Web browser is received a major overhaul which is a good news. There is a big improvement in the Web browser and it does a good job of rendering Web pages accurately. There is a new Social Feeds App for keeping tracks of yours social whirl. The battery life of the mobile phone is very impressive. It gives you 5.5 h of talk time and 18 days on stand by.
